DESCRIPTION
This course aims to enable tutors and experienced therapists to develop their teaching knowledge and skills whilst promoting expertise and professionalism. It adopts an integrative approach to the theory and practice of teaching and training in the design, organisation and evaluation of teaching and learning programmes.

This course is ideal for those working in Beauty Therapy, Sports Massage, Holistics, Complimentary Therapies or Hair looking to go into teaching.
ENTRY REQUIREMENTS
Any Level 3 qualification in Beauty Therapy or related industry
GCSE grade C - A* or equivalent in Mathematics and English

COURSE CONTENT
This course focuses on how to teach beauty therapy.
This course will enable individuals to be able to understand the role of the teacher and the importance of professionalism and adhering to policies and procedures.
Trainee teachers will develop an understanding on how to plan for a lesson. This will include time management and planning for individual learning needs and styles.
It will also teach you many ways in how to embed theory into practical sessions and ways to make teaching anatomy and physiology fun. During your teacher training you will collect evidence of teaching a theory as well as a practical session. You will also collect evidence of teaching over more than one level of beauty therapy e.g. Level 2 and Level 3.
There will be focus on quality and assessment and you will collect evidence of observing students' practical performance within a salon environment as well as providing feedback in a constructive manner.
We will help you to start building and developing resources to be used within your teaching lessons or as homework tasks for students.

Attendance at college is on ALL of the dates. You will also be required to complete 30 hours of observed teaching either at Champneys Beauty College or in an alternative setting.
