The CIDESCO diploma is the world's most prestigious qualification in aesthetics and beauty therapy, recognised in 31 countries worldwide. CIDESCO courses are intensive and require dedication and commitment but with three different routes to complete your qualification you can study in a way to suit your lifestyle.
WHO IS THIS COURSE FOR?
Created in response to changes in government legislation requiring young people to stay in full time education until the age of 18, the eighteen month option is a great way to study for 16-18 year olds and other applicants of any age who prefer to study part time.
This qualification is for learners seeking to achieve the highest possible level of training in beauty. Students must be self motivate with a desire to succeed.
Minimum age of entry is 16. There is no maximum age.
3 GCSEs, A-C grades, preferably in english and a science (applications accepted before final results are obtained)
Maturity and experience will be taken into account.

Teaching is a blend of salon based theory and practical delivery with a strong emphasis on working on clients.
CIDESCO Project with case histories
Students must prepare case histories detailing a set number of treatments each on a set number of clients and complete the CIDESCO case histories booklet. They must also research and write a project on a subject relevant to the study of beauty therapy connected to their case histories. The project should consist of at least 2500 words but not more than 4000 words, all written in the student's own words.
The case histories and project are written in advance followed by:
1.5 hour theory exam consisting of 100 multiple choice questions.
3.5 hour practical aesthetics exam covering facial, including deep cleansing; eye treatments; facial electrical treatments; make-up; manicure or pedicure.
45 minutes practical waxing exam covering half leg warm wax; bikini or underarm wax with hot wax.
2 hour body exam consisting of body analysis – to include individual treatment plan; pre-treatment (cleansing , exfoliating, IR, electrical); electrical treatment x2; completion of treatment – (electrical, application of product e.g. wrap, mask); partial body massage (areas to be allocated).
45 minutes additional treatment. This may be related to the project or an advanced treatment taken from a list.
A minimum of 70% for each exam is required for an overall pass.
CIDESCO Diploma in Beauty Therapy
ITEC Level 2 Diploma in Beauty Specialist Treatments
ITEC Level 3 Diploma in Advanced Beauty Therapy
ITEC Level 4 Diploma in Advanced Skincare
The content covered and exam structure are the same as for the fast track qualification but taught over 18 months, three days per week. Teaching days for the 2019 intake will be comfirmed during SUmmer 2019.
Success in the L2 & L3 ITEC qualifications must be attained in order to sit the L4 ITEC Diploma in Advance Skincare and the CIDESCO examination. Successful ITEC candidates will continue into the third term where they will increase their theoretical knowledge and practical skills with additional advanced treatments as well as Elemis training.
In the first part of the course (September - May) you will learn aesthetics treatments (facials, facial electrical treatments, manicure, pedicure, waxing, and make-up and eye treatments). You will gain your L2 Diploma in Beauty Specialist Treatments (and learn Facial Electrotherapy) in the first part making you a qualified Aesthetician. Exams are in April.
During the second part (May - Feb) you are able to work in a beauty salon alongside your training. Your training then develops your learning in the areas of body therapy (body massage, figure analysis, body electrical treatments, aromatherapy, hot stone massage, Indian Head Massage and other additional subjects. You will gain your ITEC Diplomas in Advanced Beauty Therapy and Advanced Skincare in part two with final ITEC exams in December.
The final term will develop and enhance your skills taking you to a higher standard to gain the coveted CIDESCO qualification in mid February/early March. You will also cover Champneys and Elemis training, have a week's work experience at a Champneys Spa and learn Lava Shells Massage
After the exams, students are fully qualified and can go into employment. Howeveer in order to receive their final CIDESCO diploma and badge, graduates are required to complete 600 hours of (paid) work. We are pleased to be able to offer guaranteed employment (for a minimum of the 600 hours) within the Champneys Group for all Champneys CIDESCO graduates.
